Telephone Systems
Telephone Systems
Telephone systems in the wing are the easiest communications system to operate. In existence for over 100 years, telephones are understandable, simple, convenient, and inexpensive. Telephone service is available at most locations used by members, their homes, work, and units. Telephone technology suffers time problems when alerting, requiring alerting lists and use of telephonic tools like paging and voice mail.
With the advent of Cellular Telephones, many more CAP members are available on an on-demand basis and effective communication takes less time. Text messaging and voice mail are also attributes of cell phones that make quick and discrete communication possible.
To this day, CAP uses telephones to alert it’s members of missions, exercises, and potential events. CAP also uses telephones as a recruiting point of contact.
